Show and Tell May 24, 2009
Hello, and welcome to my show and tell for this week!
As I was reading my newest edition of "Where Women Create" it occurred to me that I have a whole different approach at this...For one thing, Misty Moonlight Creations studio is not owned by me...I have 4 CEO's that vye for my time and have quite a few demands on me. I have been asking them for a more spacious and artistic environment but the truth is, there is constantly a lot of quality control going on around me and then for some reason my CEO's demand more time to think over my latest designs or purchases! Let me introduce them to you:

This is Ms. Ore O, one of my youngest CEO's. Her prime mission is to "think on" my new ideas before giving me the "go ahead". At any given moment she can get up and be full of energy and it usually involves sitting on my key board to make me listen to her more intently.

Now this elderly gentleman is Mr. Frisky D. Kat. He is forever giving my pointers and input about what he thinks I should change or move forward on.

Mr. Puddy Tat is one of the newest members and CEO's. He is brimming with a lot of ideas but generally it is most distracting as he can't stay on task...he is vigorously involved in sports -- paw ball. He does this within the studio and at times the balls land in my beads and findings, scattering them everywhere! And He has a very annoying habit of borrowing my pens and not returning them. I have tried to get the other CEO's to understand my predicament but they tell me that they simply do not understand what MY problem is!!!

And here we have Miss Mitzy Meow. I do not know what to think of this gal. She likes to have a toe in every pie and boy does she have toes -- seven on each foot to be exact! We never say it to her face but secretly we call her the "Prima Dona" as she thinks she is so much better than the rest. She can throw the biggest Hissy Fits whenever any of the other CEO's choose to approach her about anything.
Well, at any rate, this is the latest creation that they have approved for viewing:

Old photographs, yellowed with age. Dad's pocket watch, the hands of time still ticking. Maybe slower than before. A delicate needlepoint, not quite completed, wrapped in tissue and waiting to be rediscovered on the bottom of a hope chest.
Pieces of the past, your most cherished memories, seeking a place in the present. The faces in the photo may have grown up or passed on. The fingers that wound the watch and pulled the needle now lie still. But these memories remain, and ask to live again.
Much loved tablecloths, used for special family occasions. Grandma's rhinestone brooch, tarnished with years, but twinkling with the possibility of renewed life. Scented letters bound with a faded ribbon, tucked away for a granddaughter to read of a great love.
Old French perfume bottles lining a bedroom shelf. Antique silver spoons with intricate designs, soon to be polished and repurposed into delicate silver jewelry. Cozy quilts stitched from well-loved clothing.Your most cherished memories, much too precious to remain hidden. You feel a little flutter as each is carefully uncovered and made new. Everyone will wonder what great secret lies behind your sudden sparkle, but the feeling is too powerful for words.

Show And Tell May 18, 2009
My Show and Tell for today is going to be fairly brief as it is late and I need to fall back into bed again...But wanted to show you a few things I made this week:

I like to make a variety of styles of things and this agate I just fell in love with...the rest are natural stones as well and crystals with sterling silver.

Jadite, lampwork, Austrian crystals and enamelware bird charm with sterling and silver plate

Silver plated and not that big of deal as a prefab assembly piece

This one I made this evening...totally sterling silver and Swarovski crystal components -- bicons and butterfly beads...I hand wrap my charms as I like to work in sterling and it is softer than plated. Therefore jumprings can pull apart easier if not soldered. I think it gives it a more professional look as well.
